Overview
The Research Intensive Summer Experience (RISE) program is a partnership between Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute and the Cleveland School of Science & Medicine (CSSM). This 8-week program offers paid summer internships for rising CSSM seniors to perform cutting-edge biomedical research in a laboratory. The program exposes students to a professional laboratory setting, teaches them basic laboratory skills and scientific methodology, and challenges them to think like a scientist, creating plans to solve real-world biomedical research questions.
Program Details
- 8-week summer research program for rising 12th grade Cleveland School of Science & Medicine students
- Research is conducted in laboratories at the Lerner Research Institute on Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus
- Students are matched to a laboratory and faculty advisor, as well as to a graduate student mentor, based on their individual research interests
- In addition, the RISE program includes:
- Networking events
- Tours of Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus
- Seminars on how to develop a career in science
- Participation in research symposiums
Application
Applications for the summer 2025 LRI RISE Program are open. The program will take place from June 2, 2025 to July 25, 2025.
Eligibility:
- Must be a rising senior from the Cleveland School of Science & Medicine
- Must be able to commit to 25 hours per week for the duration of the program (June 2, 2025 - July 25, 2025)
Other eligibility requirements exist; please discuss with the Cleveland School of Science & Medicine.
