The Web Development Office is managed by Sytze van der Laan, who oversees the Institute’s public web site (http://www.lerner.ccf.org) as well as its Intranet and Social Media sites. The office sets standards for web design and development to ensure the usability of the Institute’s web pages. It assists research departments and investigators with a professional web presence to advance the Institute's educational and scientific mission.
The office works closely with the Institute’s Computing Services group, which is responsible for the hardware and software of the web servers. It develops and deploys cost-effective, open-source web applications, such as the Institute’s retreat registration and the annual Cleveland Clinic Research Day abstract submission sites. The office also assists with project proposals, code review, quality assurance and user experience testing. Web projects can be handled in-house at a competitive chargeback rate.
