The Genomic Medicine Institute is committed to performing translational and clinical human genetics and genomics investigation. The following are our patient-oriented research protocols:
**UPDATED APRIL 14, 2009: STUDY HOLD EXTENDED TO JULY 7, 2009**
This study is not accepting any new samples or consenting any new patients
for the study entitled, “Molecular Mechanisms Involved in Cancer
Predisposition” ( Cleveland Clinic IRB# 8458, which includes the PTEN, SDH
and Funny Polyps studies ) from February 8 – July 7, 2009. This is
non-negotiable. We will continue to process samples received before February
8th and results during this time period will be sent to you as per our
normal practices.
During our temporary accrual hold, we will still be able to review
patient/family history information to determine eligibility for enrollment
once our studies are able to accept new samples.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your patients. We
are placing this temporary hold on recruitment because we have been so
successful in obtaining samples that we are currently experiencing a backlog
on various processing aspects. We are also working with our IRB to improve
upon our current research practices. We are doing all of this to provide you
with the best service possible.
This website will be updated when any new information becomes available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
